Which schedule should Jupiter drivers follow? Here are some questions to ask yourself: Let's suppose your owner's manual says the severe service oil change recommendation is 3,000 miles/5,000 kilometers and the standard recommendation is 5,000 miles/8,000 kilometers. You know that you need to change the oil somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000 miles/5,000 and 8,000 kilometers. Analyze your driving patterns and Jupiter weather and road conditions to determine which end of the spectrum you're closer to. Carrying heavy loads (with or without a trailer) in FL summer weather causes your engine and transmission to run at higher temperatures and with more stress. The fluids will break down more quickly. Additives that clean and prevent corrosion will be depleted sooner. Air pollution and dust cause fluids to get dirty faster. Ditto for filters. The idea, of course, is people feel more comfortable where they aren't just another customer among many; they're special because their relationship goes back a few years.
That comfortable relationship can extend to professionals you deal with, too. Think of your accountant, your dentist, your doctor. Most people try to stick with the same person or firm in those businesses. They have grown to know their work over the years and they've learned to trust their professionalism, the quality of their work and their track record.
Ideally, you should have that same relationship with your automotive service facility, like your friends here at East Coast Automotive Services. You may have tried several facilities over the years until you found one that did good work at a reasonable price. East Coast Automotive Services A Clean Start (Battery Cleaning)Posted March 3, 2024 2:42 AMYou may be fanatical about keeping the outside of your vehicle clean. But what about what's under the hood? Have you ever thought about how dirt and grime may be affecting your engine's components? One of the most important parts under your hood to keep clean is your vehicle's battery. With a daily barrage of dirt and moisture, outside parts of your battery can corrode, namely the cables and terminals. Gases vented by batteries can also promote corrosion. That can create connection problems and affect your vehicle's electrical system. If corrosion is not cleaned off, it may damage wires and terminals so badly that they will stop properly conducting electricity. At that point, they may need replacing. When you bring your vehicle to us for a battery inspection and cleaning, we will remove any corrosion and put corrosion-resistant protection on each post. A technician will also visually inspect your battery. Plus, we can test how much life is in your battery as part of a more comprehensive battery service. Batteries don't last forever and should be regularly cleaned, inspected, and tested. Usually, they'll need to be replaced anywhere from three to five years after they were first installed, but their lifespan depends on how, where, and how much you drive.
